July 4 - King’s Bay Fireworks

Kaboom!

There’s nothing like a good fireworks show to get a crowd excited.  The colors, explosions and the lingering of smoke and sulfur is sure to drive even the lamest of people into a frenzy.  I love to see people have a good time!

I didn’t witness anyone falling into King’s Bay, but I’m sure it happened.  There were just tons of people right on the edge of the water, so someone surely took a late night dip.  Over at Cracker’s Bar and Grill they were having one heck of a bash, complete with live music and their own fireworks.  Me?  I was over at the Dockside Ice Cream Shoppe, the fine folks over there were very kind and let us hang out on their deck and get some video.  Thanks!  When you are over in Crystal River, make sure to stop by the Dockside Ice Cream Shoppe for the best view of King’s Bay.  Grab a cone, a drink and take a seat on the deck, it’s a great spot.

Now the main fireworks were behind a bunch of trees, but most of them cleared the tops pretty well.  All around King’s Bay there were volleys of fireworks, everyone was swinging their heads from one side to the other trying to look at them all.  We had a wonderful time!

Head on over to the gallery for some pictures.

Snow in Florida

Snow in Florida

It snowed this morning! Snow, sleet - whatever. We don’t get much of either, so anything that collects and is icy white gets called snow. We’ve had a week or so of really strange weather! Video taken in Inverness, Florida with a Canon Powershot SD780 IS.

Rain at Iron Bridge

Just a little video of a rainy day at the Iron Bridge area in the Withlacoochee State Forest. I just sat there (rain jacket on, of course) and watched it rain for about an hour. Good stuff.
